Revealing My 5-Year Vision: The Life I'm Manifesting By 40

One of my absolute favourite exercises is vision building. And to make sure I don’t wake up at 40 thinking, oh my god, why has my life not changed in the last five years?, I’m creating a brand new five-year vision to anchor me into the future I want.

And because I know I’m not the only one who feels like this (aka scared of being stuck in the same place) I’m taking you along with me in this process.

This isn’t about wishful thinking. It’s about creating a clear picture of the life I want, so when I wake up feeling unmotivated or lost, I have a roadmap that reminds me of what I’m actually working toward.

If you’re in your 30s and want to make sure you’re not stuck in the same spot five years from now, keep reading. I’m going to show you my exact process, the prompts I used, and the future story I wrote that already makes me feel more inspired and excited for what’s ahead.

Why I’m Creating a 5-Year Vision at 34 (Before I Hit 40)

Here’s the truth: I’m 34 now (turning 35 in December) which means in five years, I’ll be 40.

And I had this realisation the other week: however much I love my life right now, I don’t want to be in the exact same position at 40 that I am today.

Maybe you’ve felt this too. Life is good, but the thought of nothing changing over the next five years? Terrifying.

That awareness is what pushed me into creating a vision for myself. Not because I hate where I am, but because I know I want more.

I want my 40-year-old self to look back and say, “Thank god you did that work at 34, because now we’re living the dream.”

So let’s break this down, step by step:

By 40, My Life Looks Like…

The first prompt I used (shoutout to Victoria whose process I adapted from her blog In The Frow) was:

By 40, my life looks like…

And here’s what came out when I wrote it down:

  • My business is thriving. I’m making money as a full-time content creator and podcaster

  • My product/commercial business is always booked out six months in advance

  • I’m living in a home I’m obsessed with, close to public transport, near my family, and walking distance to coworking spaces and coffee shops

  • I travel at least twice per year and take smaller trips around the UK and Europe

  • I’m in a healthy, loving relationship with someone who makes me laugh daily, supports my goals, and is the hottest guy I’ve ever dated

  • I feel confident and secure in both my relationship and friendships

  • I have a thriving social life that leaves me feeling balanced between “me time” and actually living my life

  • I’m the fittest, strongest, healthiest I’ve ever been—and even more confident than I am now

I always write my prompts in the present tense. Why? Because if you believe in manifestation, writing as if it’s already true helps anchor it into your reality. Whether or not manifestation works, saying “I am” or “I have” just feels good.

My Desires for the Next 5 Years

The next prompt was desires. Here’s what I listed:

  • I own a home of my own

  • I’m completely debt free and never have to worry about money

  • I’ve travelled Vietnam and/or Mexico

  • I became a limited company because I exceeded the VAT threshold

  • I’m engaged (with a platinum band and a gorgeous pink pear-shaped diamond ring)

  • I’ve had braces to straighten my teeth again

Some of these desires are practical (like buying a home, becoming debt free). Some are personal (travel, relationships). And some are things I’ve been putting off for years (like braces).

But writing them down in present tense turns them into anchors instead of vague “someday” wishes.

Key Goals by 2030

Once I knew my desires, I set key goals by 2030.

Here’s what I wrote:

  • Over 15,000 YouTube subscribers

  • My podcast receives over 100,000 downloads every month

  • Over 100,000 TikTok followers

  • I can do the monkey bars. (Yes, seriously. For me this symbolises strength, health, and commitment.)

  • I’ve saved enough for a deposit on a home

Some of these goals feel scary. Like the house deposit - right now my savings are tiny, and I’m still paying off credit card debt. But I wrote it down anyway.

Because honestly? The more delusional, the better.

That’s become my mantra for this vision-building process.

The Things I Need to Do to Get There

Dreams are great, but what actually gets you there are the actions. Here’s what I know I need to do:

  • Start referring to myself as a content creator and take my content seriously

  • Finish my Product Film School course so I can start creating product commercials

  • Create a commercial portfolio

  • Stay committed to my vision

  • Prioritise my physical and mental health again

  • Find a therapist

That last one is a big one. I’ve done therapy before, but since my nan and grandad died, and with old relationship stuff still coming up, I know I need to go deeper.

Because no matter how much “outer” success I build, if I don’t deal with the emotional weight I’m carrying, it’ll keep holding me back.

Habits to Learn and Keep in My 30s

Victoria’s prompts also included habits to learn and keep.

Here’s what made my list:

  • Become disciplined in every area, especially health and business

  • Build a simple but effective morning routine

  • Drink at least 2 litres of water every day

  • Make working out a part of my personality

My mornings right now? Coffee, Grey’s Anatomy, scrolling socials. Cosy, yes. Effective? Not so much.

I don’t want a rigid 1-hour “miracle morning,” but I do want a 10–15 minute routine that grounds me before I start work.

And fitness? I know myself. I need to be obsessed with something to stick to it. So I need to find that next workout I can fall in love with again.

Habits to Dismiss and Lose

Just as important: the habits I need to let go of.

  • Allowing other people’s thoughts to impact my business decisions

  • Making excuses for why I can’t work out

  • Snacking on sugary things out of boredom (because it wrecks my mood)

  • Saying yes to things that aren’t a priority

These four alone could change everything if I really commit to losing them.

Trips I Want to Plan in My 30s

Travel has always been a big desire for me. Here are the places on my five-year list:

  • Vietnam

  • Mexico

  • Croatia

  • Albania

  • Italy

  • Portugal

For years, I held myself back from travelling because I didn’t want to leave my grandad while he was ill. After he passed, it became bittersweet: I can finally travel freely, but it means he isn’t here.

Still, I know traveling is something that makes me feel alive, and I want it woven into my 30s.

Who I Want to Become by 40

The final section of the prompts: who do I want to become over the next five years?

Here’s what I wrote (in present tense, obvs):

  • I’m the woman who has delusional dreams that always come true

  • I’m the woman who is committed, disciplined, and dedicated to her vision

  • I’m the woman who trusts the process, takes action daily, and believes in her ability to turn vision into reality

  • I’m the woman who’s detached from when things happen, because she knows they’re inevitable

  • I’m the woman who’s open to the universe guiding her to an even better life than she imagined

Honestly, even reading that back makes me emotional, which is always the goal when doing any kind of visioning work.

My Future Story: A Snapshot of My Life at 40

Once I had all the bullet points, I put them into ChatGPT and asked for my “future story.” Here’s what came out — And yes, my eyes might’ve filled up a little as I read it:

“I wake up every morning in a home I’m obsessed with. It’s stylish, light-filled, and in the perfect location—just a short walk to my favourite coffee spots and co-working spaces, with easy transport links and my family nearby. It feels like mine because it is—I own it outright, no more renting, no more temporary. Every detail is a reflection of me: warm, bold, creative, and full of character.

My days are a dream I once only journaled about. I’m a full-time content creator and podcaster—and damn good at it. My YouTube channel has over 15,000 amazing subscribers, my TikTok has blown up with over 100,000 followers, and my podcast gets more than 100,000 downloads every single month. I speak and people listen. My voice matters.

I work with brands I love, creating content that lights me up—and my product commercial business? It's booked out six months in advance. I had to become a limited company because I was making too much money to stay small. I’m completely debt free, have savings, and never stress about money anymore. Overflow is my new normal.

And I still make space to live. I travel a few times a year—sometimes to faraway places like Vietnam or Mexico, other times to hidden gems across Europe. Croatia, Albania, Italy by train, Portugal—they’re all ticked off and etched into my memory. I also go on smaller UK trips just because I can.

My body is the strongest, fittest, and healthiest it’s ever been. Working out is just part of who I am now—it’s not a debate, it’s a non-negotiable. I feel confident in every outfit, every photo, every room I walk into. I can do the monkey bars, I drink 2L of water daily, and my morning routine grounds me no matter how busy life gets.

I look in the mirror and see straight, beautiful teeth (braces were totally worth it), glowing skin, and a woman who is so deeply in love with her own life it radiates out of her. I feel proud of who I’ve become.

And love? Oh, it found me. I’m in a relationship with the hottest, most supportive man I’ve ever met—funny, emotionally available, ambitious, affectionate, and proud to be with me. We laugh every day. I feel seen, adored, and completely safe. When he proposed—with a platinum band and a pink pear-shaped diamond—I cried happy tears. It was everything I dreamed of, and more.

My friendships are solid and soul-nourishing. My social life is vibrant but balanced. I say no to what doesn’t serve me and hell yes to what does. My boundaries are tight, my standards are sky-high, and my inner peace is sacred.

I’m the woman who followed her bold, delusional dreams and made them real—not by magic, but by commitment. I took my content seriously. I finished the Product Film School course. I built my commercial portfolio. I stuck with my vision through doubt, delays, and distractions.

I became disciplined in my health, my habits, and my business. I stopped letting fear of other people’s opinions hold me back. I quit the excuses, the boredom snacking, the “I’ll start tomorrow” mentality. I said goodbye to self-sabotage and started acting like the woman I knew I could be.

And now? I am her.

I trust the timing of everything. I’m open to the Universe surprising me with a life even better than the one I imagined. I take inspired action daily, detached from the outcome but deeply devoted to the process.

This is the life I created by backing myself relentlessly.

This is the life I live because I chose to become her.”

Why Writing a Future Story Works

Here’s the thing: creating a vision isn’t just about dreaming. It’s about:

  • Giving yourself daily motivation

  • Anchoring into why your actions matter

  • Reminding yourself what you’re building toward

  • Feeling the emotions of your future now so they can pull you forward

This is why I’ll be turning my future story into an audio I can listen to every morning. It’s not just words on a page, it’s a tool to inspire action.

My Daily Mantra: Hot, Happy, Healthy

To keep me anchored, I chose a mantra:

Hot. Happy. Healthy.

That’s my motto for the next five years. Every decision I make - whether it’s working out, what I eat, how I work, or who I date - can be filtered through that lens.

Is this choice making me hotter, happier, or healthier? If yes, it stays.

Create Your Own 5-Year Vision

If you’ve been nodding along to this blog post, here’s your invitation to create your own five-year vision.

Ask yourself:

  • What do I want my life to look like at 40?

  • What desires do I want to fulfill?

  • What habits do I need to learn or let go of?

  • Who do I want to become?

Write it down in the present tense. Build your future story. And if you feel emotional reading it back? That’s the point. Because those flutters in your stomach, that emotion, is what will keep you moving forward, even on the hard days.

So, tell me in the comments: will you create your own 5-year vision? Or do you want to borrow my mantra and go all-in on being hot, happy, and healthy in your 30s?

Hi, I’m Becka, a single 34 year old who doesn’t have kids and lives at home with her mum, and despite society’s desperate attempts, I don’t feel behind. I’m figuring out my 30s without believing I need to “get my shit together” in order to be successful or seen as valuable.

If you’re done feeling behind or like you’re “not enough,” this is your reminder you’re exactly where you need to be, and we’re in it together. Get a front row seat to how I’m building a confident life in my 30s (and how you can too) here.
